Financial Considerations

Tuition fees

No tuition fee is payable for the academic year spent in one of the partner universities under the Erasmus programme. Consequently, you only have to pay tuition fees to the University of Cambridge for the three years that you spend here.

If you are a home/EU student, you do not have to pay any College fee either.

If you benefit from a local education authority grant, it should be extended for the year you spend abroad. Note, however, that you have the responsibility to inform them in writing that you will be taking part in the Erasmus scheme.

Erasmus grant

Moreover, students generally benefit from a Erasmus grant. Its amount varies from year to year and cannot be guaranteed from one year to the other. Bear in mind that this grant is a top-up rather than a maintenance grant. For information in the academical year 2002-03, Utrecht students received 2790 Euros, and Poitiers and Regensburg students received 2280 Euros. (The grant depends on a number of criteria like the cost of living in the corresponding Erasmus country).
