Welcome to the Faculty's LL.M. Website
Introduction by the Chair of the Law Faculty
The Law Faculty at Cambridge offers a world-renowned, internationally respected LL.M. (Master of Law) programme. The one year taught course offers highly qualified and intellectually outstanding students the opportunity of pursuing their legal studies at an advanced level in a challenging - but supportive - environment. The course, with its rich historical traditions, attracts students of the highest calibre, from both common law and civil law jurisdictions. It is intended for those wishing to pursue further legal studies after completing their first degree in law, including those who are considering an academic career or intending to practise law and those taking a career break seeking to broaden their intellectual horizons.
The course, which runs full time from October to June, is taught by academics with international reputations. Our talented students learn in the magnificent surroundings of the contemporary Norman Foster Law building while also enjoying the traditional environment of the 31 beautiful Cambridge colleges. Studying for an LL.M. at Cambridge is an enriching, stimulating and demanding experience. Students surprise themselves as to what they can achieve.
The pages which follow aim to give prospective applicants an interesting and informative guide to the LL.M. I hope you enjoy reading about the course are and inspired to come and see what we have to offer.
