Rouse Ball Professor of English Law
Public law, especially from a comparative perspective; the interface between national (expecially constitutional) law and international law and institutions; civil liberties and human rights; criminal procedure.
Currently: Rouse Ball Professor of English Law since 2004; Fellow of Downing College since 2003. Honorary Bencher of Lincoln’s Inn since 2003. Academic Associate of Chambers, 39 Essex Street, London. Fellow of the British Academy since 2006. Appointed Q.C. honoris causa 2008. President of Society of Legal Scholars for 2010-11.
