Biography

Emma Scott is a PhD candidate in Law at St Edmund’s College, University of Cambridge, focusing on family and medical law. She has several years of experience specialising in family law in Australia.  

Emma’s PhD thesis, supervised by Professor Stephen Gilmore, explores the concept of Gillick competence, with a particular focus on the Australian courts’ application of the Gillick test in cases of children seeking gender-affirming care.
