Shaping the Single European Market in the Field of Foreign Direct Investment

Summary

My research looks at the EC legal organisation of foreign direct investment (FDI). It investigates: (i) the operation of the internal market mechanism in relation to the economic phenomenon of FDI; (ii) the EC's external practice in the field of FDI; and (iii) the interplay between EC law and bilateral investment treaties concluded by the Member States (both with third countries and inter se). It moreover assesses the implications of the Lisbon Treaty for these three respective areas.
