St Catharine's Law Society - Joanna Page: 'Achieving Diversity on Company Boards'
On Wednesday 8th February at 7pm Joanna Page will be delivering a talk on "Achieving Diversity on Company Boards" as part of the St Catharine's College Law Lecture series. This talk will be of use and interest to Company Law students, management students, future corporate solicitors, and those generally interested in equality as it is a hot topic in the city at the moment.
Joanna Page, partner of Allen & Overy LLP, will talk about the challenge of achieving diversity on company boards. She will ask: does diversity matter and what sort of diversity are we talking about? This is partly about gender equality (although women represent only 12.5% of board members) but this is only part of the issue - ethnic diversity and social groupings are also issues to be addressed. Should we adopt Continental systems which seek a more prescriptive approach?
Joanna is a Litigation partner of Allen & Overy. She matriculated from St Catharine's in 1981 and joined Allen & Overy in 1986, where she has remained. For ten years she supervised in Company Law at Emmanuel and at Newnham. She is married with three children and is a board member for a charitable company.
This event is sign up only as we are expecting great interest and there are only limited places available. Please email Miss Elizabeth Chick on: eac59@cam.ac.uk.
This event is kindly being sponsored by Allen & Overy - please do come along to find out more about the firm by speaking to Joanna before and after the event.
The event will start at 7pm in the Ramsden Room, St Catharine's College.
