Tuesday, 24 January 2017 - 5.00pm
Location:
Alison Richard Building, SG1

You are warmly invited to attend a unique seminar, bringing together policy and academia to explore issues around end of life care through the lens of film. The seminar will feature Dr Stephen Barclay (University Senior Lecturer in Palliative Care and General Practice, University of Cambridge) and Dr Steven Eastwood (Reader in Film Practice, Queen Mary, University of London). Dr Barclay will explore the challenges and rewards of academic and clinical palliative care. In responding to and developing the themes of Barclay's paper, Dr Eastwood will discuss his current film project, The Interval and the Instant: Inscribing Death and Dying, made with the involvement and oversight of palliative care professionals at Earl Mountbatten Hospice (Isle of Wight). There will then be time for discussion with the audience and the speakers.

This free event will run from 17:00 to 19:00 and will be followed by drinks and nibbles.

Spaces are limited, so please register for this event by visiting: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/images-of-care-and-dying-with-drs-stephen...

We hope to see you there and please do circulate the invitation to those who might be interested.
