The Faculty of Law is committed in its pursuit of academic excellence to equality of opportunity and to a proactive and inclusive approach to equality, which supports and encourages all under-represented groups, promotes an inclusive culture, and values diversity. The Faculty is currently working towards applying for an Athena SWAN Bronze Award under the Athena SWAN Charter scheme. The Charter is based on a number of key principles, including advancing gender equality in academia, tackling the gender pay gap, and tackling the discriminatory treatment often experienced by trans people.
