There are a number of ways in which students can register their feedback about the University, the Faculty, and their course during the time in which they are studying at the Faculty:
Faculty e-quality portal
The E-Quality instant feedback portal can be used by all students for instant feedback throughout the year to give timely and constructive opinions to the Faculty about lectures and other relevant aspects of the teaching programme (e.g. the Library, Computing, etc).
Faculty course surveys: Tripos, LLM, MCL
The Faculty conducts annual surveys for all Tripos, LLM and MCL students, which cover teaching, courses, resources and facilities. This is the most important feedback mechanism for students to complete. The results directly affect decisions regarding the teaching and the general operation of the Faculty. Students are VERY strongly encouraged to participate in these surveys.
These surveys are anonymous, and specialised links are distributed to students by email. The links are usually distributed towards the end of the Easter vacation. The results of Faculty surveys are considered by the Academic and Examinations Committees, and the Faculty Board.
National Student Survey (NSS)
The NSS is an opportunity for final year students to give their opinions on what they liked about their time at Cambridge as well as things that they felt could have been improved. The results feed into national university league tables and are an important way for the Faculty and University to see what's going well and what might have been better.
In order for the results to be considered statistically significant for inclusion in university league tables, a participation rate of at least 50% is needed. Students are strongly encouraged to complete the survey to ensure that this target is reached, and so that potential students are able to see their views of Law at Cambridge.
The results of the NSS are considered by the Academic Committee and the Faculty Board.
The NSS survey is open January-April.
