CV / Biography

Marc Moore is Reader in Corporate Law, Director of the Masters in Corporate Law (MCL) degree, and Co-Director of the Centre for Corporate and Commercial Law (3CL) in the Faculty of Law. He joined the Faculty of Law in September 2014, and has previously held teaching positions at University College London and the University of Bristol, and also visiting teaching positions at the University of Auckland and Seattle University.

Marc is the author of Corporate Governance in the Shadow of the State (2013, Hart Publishing) and the co-author (with Martin Petrin) of Corporate Governance: Law, Regulation and Theory  (2017, Palgrave). He has written, published and lectured internationally on a wide range of related topics, with particular regard to Anglo-American corporate governance and theory of the firm. In 2012 Marc was awarded a prestigious Philip Leverhulme Prize, for outstanding scholars who have made a substantial and acknowledged contribution to their field of study.

Marc is the co-editor (with Christopher Bruner) of Hart Publishing's Contemporary Studies in Corporate Law academic monograph series; the co-editor (with Hse-Yu Chiu) of Palgrave Macmillan's Corporate and Financial Law text series; and the Deputy Chief Examiner for Company Law on the University of London's external LLB programme.

Marc currently convenes the Tripos Company Law course and the US Corporate Law module on the MCL degree. He also lectures on the LLM Corporate Governance course and MCL Aspects of Financial Regulation module, and supervises in Company Law and Law of Contract.
