The Ceremonial Mace in the House of Commons
Summary
Kathrin's research focuses on the role of symbols in constitutional law, exemplified by the Ceremonial Mace in the House of Commons. The project does not only aim at illustrating the Mace's and House's co-evolution since the early 15th century, but more broadly at providing a framework for understanding the interdependent relationship between legal institutions and their symbols.
