CV / Biography

Hailing from western Canada, Dr Simone Hanebaum completed her PhD in History at the University of Cambridge in 2019 working on sixteenth- and seventeenth-century England. Whilst a student at Peterhouse she was active in the Peterhouse Graduate Student Society or ‘MCR’ as the MCR committee’s Secretary from 2016 to 2017. During this time she organised the inaugural Postgraduate Open Day at Peterhouse and led the successful postgraduate push for Peterhouse to fly the LGBT+ rainbow flag for the first time in February 2017. She was also a dedicated volunteer with the History for Schools outreach programme in the Faculty of History. Simone is very keen to be bringing her commitment to diversity, inclusion and equality to the Faculty of Law as the Schools Liaison Coordinator.
