Location:
Institute of Criminology, Seminar Room B3

The Institute of Criminology, University of CambridgeSpeakers:  Professor Lawrence W. Sherman (Director, Jerry Lee Centre for Experimental Criminology) & Dr Heather Strang (Director, Police Executive Programme, Institute of Criminology, University of Cambridge)

In the first randomized trial in 40 years showing police decisions causing a reduction in repeat domestic abuse, the Institute of Criminology recently published an evaluation of the Hampshire CARA project for first offenders. The speakers explain what they found in the context of previous research, discussing the qualitative observations of offender workshops that help explain the quantitative results. They also review the policy developments in the first year since the experiment was published.

The IoC Public Seminar Series is open to all interested in attending, with no ticket required, but please notify Reception if you wish to attend: crimrece@hermes.cam.ac.uk.

If you wish to be added to the seminar mailing list, please contact: enquiries@cim.cam.ac.uk
