Abstract

For more than thirty years, the UBAXXII Program has taught undergraduate courses and organized research and extracurricular activities in establishments of the Argentine Federal Penitentiary Service. The Faculty of Philosophy and Literature takes part of this program, as well as other institutional spaces in prison, teaching undergraduate courses, organizing writing, human rights and gender workshops, and carrying out research and educational and community projects, oriented towards the defence of human rights and social inclusion of prisoners and former prisoners. This presentation briefly revises the history and describes the main guidelines and proposals of this intervention, focusing on its transformative potential both for individuals and society.
