Can we use international criminal law to tackle the climate emergency? What changes could be made to the International Criminal Court (ICC) to improve how it functions? Will the new U.S. President Joe Biden change America’s hostile stance to the ICC? These questions and more will be discussed in what promises to be a fascinating panel discussion addressing the the current challenges facing international criminal law.

Tom Dannenbaum is Assistant Professor of International Law at the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy, Tufts University. He was previously a human rights lecturer at University College London and Robina Foundation visiting human rights fellow at Yale Law School. His writings have been cited by the International Law Commission and focus on the laws of war, the use of force and international criminal law. His recent works include "The Crime of Aggression, Humanity and the Soldier" (CUP 2018) and contributions to the Oxford Handbook of International Criminal Law.

Angela Mudukuti is a Zimbabwean human rights lawyer specialized in international criminal law. Currently with the Open Society Justice Initiative, Angela has worked for the Office of the Prosecutor of the ICC, Human Rights Watch, the Wayamo Foundation and the Southern Africa Litigation Centre, including on crimes against humanity and universal jurisdiction cases before the South African Constitutional Court. She has written and published on international criminal law in books, journals and newspapers and has been featured in the Financial Times and Al Jazeera, among others.
