POSTPONED TO LENT TERM DUE TO ILLNESS

The Medical Law Society is hosting its next event, “We are all individuals!” Do data privacy laws unjustifiably hamper medical research?” on Wednesday 10 November 2021, at 5-6:45pm in LG17 at the Law Faculty.

The speaker, Professor David Townend, is an academic currently working at the University of Maastricht, as a Professor of Health and Life Sciences Jurisprudence. His research focuses on the relationship between the individual and collective responsibility and the confers of privacy and property in research governance.

Professor Townend will look at the opportunities that are contained in the GDPR, and how they may be presented to the public and regulators, alongside a consideration of the UK’s move away from GDPR and how this creates problems in international health research.

Further information, including tickets, can be found via the Facebook event.
