Jesus College wishes to appoint a College Lecturer in Law. The post is for a fixed term of 5 years, starting on 1 September 2018 or as soon as possible after that date, and carries with it a Fellowship at the College (the Yates Glazebrook Fellowship in Law).

The successful candidate is expected to provide small-group teaching (supervision) in two of the following four papers: Tort Law, Contract Law, Land Law and Equity. The College already has teaching provision in the following papers: Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and Evidence, Family Law, Human Rights Law, International Law and EU Law.The Lectureship is intended to provide a valuable development opportunity for a fixed term to an individual at the beginning of her or his academic career to allow her or him to build teaching skills, a publication record and other academic activity with a view to obtaining a university appointment in Cambridge or elsewhere after holding the Lectureship. In addition to individuals who have already started their academic career or are finishing their graduate studies in Law, the College is equally interested in individuals with some teaching experience considering a switch from legal practice to academia.

The successful applicant will be expected to undertake up to ten hours a week of small-group teaching (supervision) in Law, to direct studies in Parts of the Law Tripos or the LLM/MCL, to play an active part in the organisation and support of the subject within the College, including helping with undergraduate admissions, to engage in research and publication of international quality, and to undertake other College offices or duties appropriate to an early-career appointment if asked to do so.

The stipend, which can be pensionable under the Universities Superannuation Scheme, is on a scale from £28,936 to £35,550 per annum (Points 38 to 45 on the University Single Spine), reviewable 1 August 2018.
