AIThe Centre for Law, Medicine and Life Sciences (LML) seeks to appoint a highly motivated and independent Research Associate to join a two-year research project on artificial intelligence and liability.

The project will focus in particular on the assignment of liability for harms caused by the use of machine learning algorithms in healthcare. There are several ways in which these harms might be addressed, each of which raises legal and normative questions that have received insufficient attention.

Expertise in tort law or products liability law is a requirement. Expertise in the philosophy of science, moral philosophy, or public policy is desirable.

The position requires a higher degree (PhD, JD, or Masters) or equivalent work experience. If the applicant holds an undergraduate degree in law, the higher degree can be in any relevant discipline. If the applicant does not hold an undergraduate degree in law, the higher degree must be in law.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years.
