The Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer - National Law University Delhi International Negotiation Competition is designed to be a one-of-a-kind competitive educational experience. With the INC, HSF Kramer and NLU Delhi seek to give law students from top universities around the world the opportunity to learn and hone their negotiating skills. The INC has been carefully structured to simulate legal negotiations, particularly for students desirous of becoming international lawyers.

Established in 2014 and hosted at NLU Delhi, the HSF Kramer - NLU Delhi INC, as the first competition of its kind in India, has earned special significance among law universities around the world. The event, over its past editions, has received widespread acclaim for its well-drafted negotiations simulations, quality of judging, and overall standards of participation.

The participants in the competition assume the role of parties involved in a series of negotiations. The negotiation simulations closely imitate real-life examples with a common set of facts known to all participants confidential information known only to the participants representing a particular side. Teams submit a negotiation plan prior to the competition, then negotiate with the other party in negotiation sessions that last for an hour. Each participating team will be required to take part in two Preliminary Rounds, based on which the eight teams proceed to the Quarter-Final Rounds. The winning teams move on to the Semi-Final and Final Rounds.

A recording of the final negotiation is available on the NLU channel on YouTube:
