The Centre for Tax Law (CTL) is delighted to invite proposals to present papers at the Centre's 13th biennial Tax Law History Conference, to be held in Darwin College, Cambridge on Monday 6 and Tuesday 7 July 2026.
As usual, there is no particular academic theme for the conference, except that proposals should have a tax law and historical focus. Volunteers to give papers should contact us at ctl@law.cam.ac.uk by Friday 9 January 2026 with a title and an abstract not exceeding 300 words. The pool of proposals will be assessed by a panel and volunteers will be notified of the outcome in mid-January 2026.
At present we are unable to guarantee hybrid attendance and this event is therefore likely to be wholly in-person. We hope to keep the registration fee as low as possible, but please note that overnight accommodation will not be arranged by the Centre. We will circulate more information about this in due course, including the relatively affordable option of staying in student rooms in Colleges.
There should be a limited number of places for individuals who wish to attend without offering a paper. Please let us know if you would be interested in attending on this basis and we will contact you as soon as possible after the lineup of presenters has been finalised.
Finally, we hope to continue our tradition of publishing the conference papers in the 13th volume of Studies in the History of Tax Law with Hart Publishing, although this is not confirmed. A book proposal will be submitted early next year based on proposals accepted.
