Every year, we receive great feedback from our delegates about their experiences throughout the week; many of them go on to apply successfully to the University when the time comes. Here’s what some of the Sixth Formers who came on the Conference had to say!

The Cambridge Sixth Form Law Conference gave me a unique and diverse insight into studying law at Cambridge, which was incredibly helpful with my application. As well as this, I had a great time and made some good friends who I’m still in touch with now! I’d recommend the conference to anyone thinking of studying law at university. Mattie Green, The Ecclesbourne School (Derbyshire), now studying Law at Downing College

I had an absolutely fantastic time on the Conference and appreciate all of [the Committee’s] work! The lectures were simply fascinating and I thoroughly enjoyed having the opportunity to meet and become great friends with other young law enthusiasts. Not only did I find the week interesting and well-organised but I also found the Conference as a whole truly inspirational and has made me even more determined to become a successful Law student. Finlay Greenfield (2016), St Birinus School, Oxfordshire

Thank you for an amazing week, I had such a good time! I wasn’t too sure what to expect when I signed up for the conference last year, but it exceeded all of my expectations. The Committee were all really approachable and 100% showed that Cambridge could be fun as well as really hard working; all of the evening activities were fun and relaxed too, which made it a lot more enjoyable. Cosima Dickinson (2016), Manchester High School for Girls, Manchester

When I arrived at the Conference on Monday I felt very insecure about what it was required of me in order to apply to a Law course at University. By Thursday, I not only had clear in mind what the steps to a successful application are, but thanks to the genuinely entertaining lectures I was much more enthusiastic about pursuing all those steps. Alice Devenuto (2016), American School of Milan, Milan

The Cambridge University Sixth Form Law Conference was a truly enlightening experience that gave me a significant insight to what studying Law at Cambridge will be like. From the people to the lectures everything was what I expected and so much more! I would defiantly recommend this experience to anyone who is even just considering studying law at university because it certainly helped me to decide Law is the best option for me! Maria Aickin (2016), Notre Dame High School, Norwich

The Sixth Form Law Conference was an amazing opportunity, not only did we have the chance to learn about a variety of topics studied when taking Undergraduate Law at University, but we got the chance to be real students at Cambridge, even if it was just for the week! It was great to be able to listen to many of the country’s top law lecturers lecture on subjects and aspects of Law I had not come across before. I was the only one from my Sixth Form College that attended, but everyone was so friendly making friends was easy. I wouldn’t have missed this conference for anything, and would encourage anyone decided, or undecided, about studying law at University to attend, it really is an incredible opportunity! Laura Wheatley, Weston Sixth Form College (Somerset)

The course has really shown me that Cambridge isn’t pretentious, its full of normal, friendly people with some great stories to tell. Definitely one of the best weeks of the year! Louise O'Hara, Aylesbury High School (Buckinghamshire)

When I went on the law conference I was unsure of so many things- not just whether law was the course for me, but whether I would fit in with student life at university, what student accommodation was like, and how the application process worked. For me the conference gave a true reflection of what undergraduate life is like and I absolutely loved it! Laura Duggan, South Hunsley School (East Yorkshire)

I arrived at the Law conference with a fair bit of trepidation but I definitely made the right choice Without quite knowing how or why, I found myself irresistibly interested in things that would possibly have bored me into a coma a few months ago! The Committee members are not only approachable and friendly but also incredibly normal! I was unsure whether I wanted to pursue economics or law at university, and the Conference was a great way to help me make my mind up. Shaz Aziz, Nottingham High School (Nottingham)

Before attending the conference I wasn’t sure that I wanted to apply to Cambridge or even for law, but by the end of it I was sure of both! It’s a fantastic opportunity to get a feel for student life, as well as experiencing a huge variety of law topics in the form of short lectures, ranging from Roman law to deciding whether a laser powered banana posed a real threat in an attempted murder trial. I made so many friends over the few days who I am still in contact with now, and I would definitely recommend the course to anyone who is even remotely considering law or Cambridge. The students who ran the course put a lot of effort in, and in particular the mock trial was brilliant! An amazing experience - not to be missed! Sam Nicholls, Shrewsbury High School (Shropshire)
