Maintaining Excellence

Sponsorship and donations to the Law Faculty play a crucial role in supporting some of our key aims and initiatives, from funding collections in our esteemed Squire Library to establishing professorships – and everything in between. Our sponsors are contributing to the wider legal community in ways that are visible, invisible, short-term and long-term. For example, thanks to the generosity of our existing benefactors we have been able to fund chairs, lectureships, PhD studentships, MCL bursaries, high-profile conferences, annual lectures and establish prizes.

In addition, the Law Faculty's world-class teaching, research and engagement with practitioners have impact other than just the legal community; conferences, lectures and academic opinion inform the wider debate. Sponsorship enables us to run these events and others - such as seminars and workshops - all of which have a potential impact on the larger public agenda.

In addition to the Faculty’s overarching aims, each of our Research Centres has its own needs and priorities, set against the back drop of the Higher Education Funding Council for England's (HEFCE) Research Excellence Framework, which is the system for assessing the quality of research in UK higher education institutions. If you would like to know more about the Faculty's and Centres' news, events and achievements explore the Faculty's newsletter LawLink archive.

We are always delighted to hear from alumni and other potential sponsors with ideas for developing and supporting our work. If you would like to make a contribution to the Law Faculty, financial or otherwise, please contact our Development Associate, Annabel Edwards at annabel.edwards@admin.cam.ac.uk and on 07720 165332. Contributions can also be made through our Development and Alumni Relations office.
