Interests

I am a legal and political theorist with broad interests in critical theory, EU law, constitutional law, postcolonial theory, Third World Approaches to International Law, and international migration law. In my current book project I am trying to make sense of "Fortress Europe", broadly construed, as part of which I am developing a theory on the impact of the EU's migration policies on the constitutional imaginary of European integration.

I am a British Academy Postdoctoral Fellow (2026-28) at the Faculty of Law and a Senior Postdoctoral Researcher at Trinity College. I am also a Visiting Fellow at the Law and the Humanities Hub of the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, University of London. In 2025, I was a postdoctoral researcher at Ghent University's Faculty of Law working on postcolonial theory and international migration law as part of the ERC-funded MIGJUST project. In 2024, I defended my doctorate in philosophy at the University of Leuven where I held an individual fellowship from the Flemish Research Council (FWO). In my doctoral project, I worked on a novel approach to EU law at the intersection of constitutional theory and critique of legal reasoning. The project resulted in five publications, principal among which is "Ideology in the Adjudication of the ECJ", published in Law and Philosophy in 2023. As part of the project, I was a visiting researcher at the law faculties of the University of Vienna and Harvard University. Beyond academia, I am trained as a classical musician and have so far called five countries home.
