My research interests lie in private law, with particular interests in the relationship between private law doctrine and the factual conditions to which legal norms respond. A significant part of my research examines how private law determines responsibility, causation, and proof in contexts of uncertainty. I am particularly interested in how developments in technology, science, and empirical methods challenge established approaches to the attribution of legal responsibility, especially in disputes where the relationship between factual complexity and normative judgment is contested. My research combines doctrinal analysis with interdisciplinary approaches, including law and economics and computational methods. Alongside my research, I have supervised several Tripos papers. These include Contract law, Tort law, Company law, Labour law and Law & Economics. I have also delivered lectures on the LLM Advanced Labour law paper.
