Designing Efficient Recovery: The Economics and Institutions of Cross-Border Asset Tracing

Summary

My research examines the economic and institutional foundations of cross-border asset tracing and recovery in insolvency. It identifies the transaction-cost frictions that hinder efficient recovery, such as information barriers, jurisdictional misalignments, and coordination failures, and evaluates how legal tools, procedural design, and digital-asset frameworks can improve value preservation and enforcement. The project aims to develop a functional model of “efficient recovery” to guide reform and international cooperation.
