Thursday, 16 February 2017 - 6.00pm
Location:
Robinson College, Umney Theatre

All are welcome to attend the 9th Alistair Berkley Memorial Lecture. The lecture will be entitled "Mental States, Law and Morality" and will be given by Sir John Laws, former Lord Justice of Appeal and current Goodhart Visiting Professor of Legal Science at the Faculty. It will take place in the Umney Theatre in Robinson College on 16th February at 6pm.

Alistair Berkley was a passenger aboard the ill-fated flight Pam Am 103 that was blown up over Lockerbie. He was a valued member of Robinson College - where he had read Law - and his death was felt as a great loss. After he left Cambridge he spent several years teaching law at Makerere University in Uganda before returning to read for an LLM in Law and Development at the LSE. The lecture has been endowed by his parents in his memory.

There is a Facebook event for the lecture at https://www.facebook.com/events/1830857257194904/.
