Friday, 13 October 2017 - 5.30pm
Location:
Pembroke College, Nihon Room

If you are interested in Palestine, international law, human rights issues, or anything surrounding those subjects, this event will be of interest to you. On Friday 13th October, Ardi Imseis will be giving a presentation on human rights and international law in Palestine, including the Balfour Declaration, the partition of Palestine, the 1967 war and the present. His speech will be followed by an open, informal Q&A session.

Ardi served for 12 years in senior legal and policy capacities with the United Nations (UN) in Palestine and is presently completing his doctoral thesis in Cambridge's POLIS department. He has testified before high profile bodies including the UN Security Council and the French Senate, and has published prolifically on a range of issues in international law, with expertise including refugees and human rights.

The focus of the talk will be introductory, but Ardi is an excellent speaker and will expand upon areas of interest via questions provided by the audience.

Ask for directions at Pembroke Porter's Lodge / look out for PalSoc members at the college entrance to guide you to the room.
