Friday, 7 September 2018 - 9.00am
Location:
Christ's College

This one-day symposium, hosted by The Centre for Law, Medicine and Life Sciences (LML) and The Center for Advanced Studies in Biomedical Innovation Law (CeBIL), aims to tackle some of the challenging issues raised by black-box precision medicine, particularly for legal and regulatory frameworks. Black-box precision medicine is an exciting new frontier in health care diagnostics, harnessing the power of big data and artificial intelligence to examine newly available troves of health data, including genomic sequences, patient clinical care records, and the results of diagnostic tests.

This symposium features an international showcase of speakers and panellists from industry, academia, FDA/MHRA and legal services. Confirmed speakers include Dr Alberto Gutierrez (FDA 2009-2017), Prof Glenn Cohen (Harvard), Emeritus Prof Chris Lowe (Cambridge Academy of Therapeutic Sciences), Prof Timo Minssen (Copenhagen), Prof Mateo Aboy (Cambridge), Dr John Liddicoat (Cambridge), Dr Stuart Hogarth (Cambridge), Nicholson Price (Michigan), and Jacob Sherkow (New York).

Lunch and refreshments will be provided and the event will conclude with a networking and drinks reception. To register, please go to https://cebil-2018.eventbrite.co.uk and for enquiries please email Carmen Smith in the CATS team at: carmen.smith@admin.cam.ac.uk.
