Online webinar

Decolonise Law will be holding a lunchtime talk tomorrow, 9 March from 12pm to 12.45pm, on what it might begin to look like to incorporate decoloniality into the law syllabus. We are inviting two speakers for our panel: Dr Sandesh Sivakumaran, from the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law, and Professor Nicola Padfield, the Faculty's Equality and Diversity Inclusion Director.

Dr Sandesh Sivakumaran is University Reader in International Law, Fellow of the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law and Fellow of St Edmund's College. He was previously Professor of Public International Law at the University of Nottingham. Dr Sandesh has published on a variety of topics in public international law and has acted as an expert for a range of states, international organisations and non-governmental organisations.

Professor Nicola Padfield is Professor of Criminal and Penal Justice at the Law Faculty, University of Cambridge, and has been a Fellow of Fitzwilliam College since 1991. Her books include ‘The Criminal Justice Process: Text and Materials’ (5th edition, 2016); ‘Criminal Law’ (10th edition, 2016), and ‘Beyond the Tariff: Human rights and the release of life sentence prisoners’ (2002). She has edited and contributed to a number of more recent collections of essays on parole and early release (which has involved research in a number of European countries).
