International Women's Day: 'Ending Child and Forced Marriage'

On 8 March, Cambridge Family Law will be celebrating International Women's Day with a talk by Naomi Wiseman (1KBW).

With the passing of the Marriage and Civil Partnership (Minimum Age) Act 2022, England and Wales has joined a growing group of nations raising the minimum age of marriage to 18. This lecture will look at the case for and against using the minimum age of marriage to end child and forced marriage and provide a comparative analysis of how this issue is being tackled and how much the law is able to protect.
