Location:
Lauterpacht Centre for International Law, Old Library

Event posterSpeakers: Dr Lena Holzer (Assistant Professor in Gender, Race and the Law Fellow of the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law), Professor Dalia Leinarte (Member and former chair of UN CEDAW) & Dr Markus Gehring (Associate Professor Fellow of the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law)

The process of strengthening UN human rights treaty body system is continuing since 2012. What are expectations, promises & challenges of the reform today? Please join a discussion on the practical as well as theoretical aspects of the process, including questions on whether the TB reform presents an opportunity to think about how we approach rights from a conceptual perspective, as well as whether harmonization/interaction between the different bodies could end up strengthening an intersectional approach to rights. During the discussion some examples of working practices of human rights treaty bodies will be also introduced.

This is an in-person event, and no registration is required.
