Location:
Faculty of Law, LG17

Cambridge University Lawyers Without Borders (CULWOB) will host Killian Moran and Connie Parker-Dhinakaran from The Death Penalty Project.

The Death Penalty Project is an international human rights NGO that advocates for the global abolition of capital punishment. Their work ranges from advocating for those on death row in need of representation, to strategically litigating in domestic and international courts to challenge broader legal systems. Their work has a particular emphasis on retentionist states in the Commonwealth, where capital punishment is often a legacy of the colonial imposition of English common law.

Capital punishment is one of the most pressing issues in modern human rights law, so if it’s something that you’re interested in or keen to learn more about, please come along! The talk will last for about half an hour, with half an hour for Q&A, so feel free to think of some questions.

The talk is open to anyone: please fill in the form if you are interested in attending to indicate numbers.

Any questions to Flaviana Craznic.
