The Trinity Hall Law Society will be organising the Trinity Hall Careers Panel. We are excited to host our distinguished alumni Ruth Byrne KC, Gillian Higgins, Tristan Pedelty and Cameron Miles at the event.
Ruth Byrne KC: Ruth Byrne KC specialises in international commercial and investment disputes, with a particular focus on energy, life sciences, fraud and enforcement.
Ruth has advised clients on disputes arising in multiple jurisdictions and has appeared as counsel in 100+ arbitrations as well sitting regularly as arbitrator.
Gillian Higgins: Gillian is a senior international criminal lawyer and Head of the International Practice Group at 9BR Chambers in London. She has extensive experience at the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the UN international tribunals.
She has been instructed in some of the leading cases in international criminal law including the first trial of a former Head of State (former President of Serbia, Slobodan Milosevic) and the first case at the ICC of an incumbent Head of State (President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya).
Tristan Pedelty: Tristan Pedelty has had an 18-year career in the public sector, with over a decade as a Senior Civil Servant. He is currently a Director in the Cabinet Office while studying to become a Chartered Accountant, having recently completed the establishment of a new organisation in Northern Ireland to investigate unsolved murders during the troubles, where he served as the first CEO and Commissioner.
Cameron Miles: Cameron Miles specialises in public international law and international commercial and investment treaty arbitration. His practice as a leading junior is split between domestic and international courts and tribunals. In England, he has developed a market-leading practice on state immunity and enforcement matters heard in the Commercial Court, that also takes him to the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.
They will be sharing their experiences and diverse career paths upon graduation from Trinity Hall, spanning work in the civil service, commercial law (international commercial and investment disputes), and international criminal law.
