About the speaker: About the speaker: Jennifer McCoy is Regent's Professor of Political Science at Georgia State University in Atlanta and Nonresident Scholar at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. She is a specialist on political polarization and depolarization, democratic erosion, resistance and recovery, and her latest book, Depolarize Politics and Remake Democracy, with Murat Somer is forthcoming at Princeton University Press.
About the series: the Dialogues on Democratic Resilience series organised in collaboration with the Centre for Public Law provides a platform for scholars, students, and members of the general public to examine the causes and dynamics of democratic decline and to explore strategies for strengthening democratic institutions. Interdisciplinary in scope, the series places particular emphasis on the role of law and legal institutions, investigating how they can both contribute to democratic erosion and function as vital safeguards against.
