Law FacultyThe Faculty of Law is seeking to appoint a Postgraduate Course Administrator to join our professional services team. This role provides an exciting opportunity to be part of a supportive Faculty, proactive in providing training and career development opportunities for all staff.

The Faculty of Law currently has over 80 University, Faculty and College teaching officers. Almost every area of legal interest is represented. Within its professional services team, the Faculty has 23 administrative staff, an IT team of 5 and a Legal Research Training & Communications Specialist.

The role holder will provide administrative support to the postgraduate research course, with particular emphasis on the PhD programme, to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the course. This will include liaising with academic staff on all aspects of course organisation, preparation, editing and distribution of course material. The post holder will support the Degree Committee Administrator and will carry out administration relating to the applications and admissions procedure for the course. The postholder will also deal with enquiries from current and prospective students regarding the course such as the application process, funding and course requirements and co-ordinate assessment processes.

Applicants should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a good standard of written and spoken English. The role requires previous administrative experience and excellent IT skills. The role holder must be able to work with a high level of accuracy, have excellent organisational skills and be able to work on their own initiative, in addition to working well as part of a team.

We offer the flexibility of hybrid working and would be willing to discuss this as part of the interview process. There is a preference for in-person working during the probation period.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment.
