Alicia HinarejosThe European Central Bank (ECB) has selected Dr Alicia Hinarejos as one of its 2018 Legal Research Scholars.

The European Central Bank’s Legal Research Programme was launched in 2008 to foster analysis of areas of law relevant to the ECB’s statutory tasks, and to establish closer contacts with scholars. Dr Hinarejos will be conducting research on the proposed European Monetary Fund and what its creation could mean for the future of the euro area.

The European Central Bank is the central bank of the 19 European Union countries which have adopted the euro. The main task of the organisation is to maintain price stability in the euro area and so preserve the purchasing power of the single currency.
