What is striking about our success in such league tables is that they are based on what matters most to our students.Professor Richard Fentiman

The Faculty of Law has again been recognised as the country's leading law school, retaining its first place in the Guardian University Guide. This follows the Faculty's success this year in both the Complete University Guide and The Times University Guide, in both of which it was ranked first.

The Guardian table is compiled by independent consultancy Intelligent Metrix, and ranks university departments according to eight factors which are considered important to students, including student satisfaction, staff-student ratio, expenditure on students, and employability.

Commenting on its number one position, Chair of the Faculty, Professor Richard Fentiman, said:

"What is striking about our success in such league tables is that they are based on what matters most to our students. Our staff-student ratio, our world-class facilities, and our commitment to teaching ensures an exceptional educational experience which is highly valued by employers".
