Exchange Agreement between Stellenbosch University and the University of Cambridge

The Faculties of Law of Stellenbosch University and the University of Cambridge have entered into a student exchange agreement. The agreement will allow up to two students to spend an academic year at the partner institution as a visiting student. At Cambridge, the visiting students will have the opportunity to choose any of the undergraduate law papers offered by the Faculty of Law. They will also be members of one of the 31 colleges and receive supervisions in their chosen papers. At Stellenbosch, the visiting students will be able to choose from both undergraduate and certain postgraduate law papers offered by the Faculty of Law.

Associate Professor Felix Steffek, Director of International Strategy and Partnerships at Cambridge, said:  "The exchange with Stellenbosch University is an exciting opportunity for our students as it opens a pathway to studying law at one of the leading universities in Africa. We are very much looking forward to welcoming the first visiting students from Stellenbosch in the 2023-24 academic year."

Professor Mark Elliott, Chair of the Faculty of Law at Cambridge, said: "I am delighted that we are partnering with Stellenbosch University in this, and that Cambridge and Stellenbosch students will have the rich intellectual and cultural opportunities that this exchange programme offers. I am grateful to our former Director of International Strategy and Partnerships, Professor Jens Scherpe, for bringing this project to fruition, and we look forward greatly to welcoming our first students from Stellenbosch next year."
