Danae (or Danai) Azaria joined the Faculty of Laws, UCL as a Lecturer in Law in 2013. She is the convenor of the Energy Law Specialism on the LLM programme at UCL Laws. Danae is an advocate of the Athens Bar in Greece.
Her monograph, Treaties on Transit of Energy via Pipelines and Countermeasures, was published by Oxford University Press in 2015 in the series Oxford Monographs of International Law.
Danae holds a PhD and LLM from UCL, a LLM from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, and completed her undergraduate studies in law at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Université de Strasbourg – Robert Schuman. She has received scholarships for her studies from the Hellenic State Scholarship Foundation and the Academy of Athens. Before joining UCL, Danae worked as a researcher at the British Institute of International and Comparative Law in London, the Financial Markets Law Committee at the Bank of England in London, and the Energy Charter Secretariat in Brussels. She was also a contracted legal expert for the Council of Europe.
