On Monday 6th November from 8-9.30pm, Cambridge Girl Talk will be welcoming four leading lawyers to Clare College to talk careers, success and industry insights:

Baroness Janet Neel Cohen of Pimlico

Baronesss Cohen is a senior lawyer and Labour peer. Graduating from Newnham College with a B.A. in Law in 1962, Cohen went on to forge a colourful career as a solicitor, civil servant and public personage, culminating with her appointment to The House of Lords in 2000. She was formerly Director of the London Stock Exchange for over ten years, Governor of the BBC, Chairman of the Cambridge Arts Theatre and currently holds the position as Chancellor of BPP. A published author specialising in crime fiction, Cohen has also written 10 books.

Judge Liza Helen Gordon-Saker

Judge Gordon-Saker is a Circuit Judge based in Cambridge. Called to the Bar in 1982, she was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2006 and as a District Judge on the Principal Registry of the Family Division) in 2010.

Fiona Adams

Adams is a Co-Managing Shareholder of the London office and the Co-Chair of the Global Corporate Practice of International Law Firm, GreenbergTraurig. Previously Partner at Mayer Brown, she primarily represents corporate clients, focusing her practise around merges and acquisitions in a range of industries such as pharmaceuticals, finance, media and retail, for which she is consistently listed highly in the Chambers UK Guide.

Jackie Wells

Partner of Taylor Vinters, Wells is a leading Family and Divorce lawyer. Listed in Citywealth's Leaders' Honours List, she describes her approach to clients as: 'not being strait-jacketed by the legal process and bringing an empathetic and common sense approach to cases involving emotional and financial complexity'. Wells is regularly invited to comment in the media on topical issues relating to Family Law.

This event will be chaired by Gee Kim, Law finalist at Emmanuel and President of the Emmanuel Law Society.

The event is free and open to all self-identifying women and non-binary students at Cambridge.
