Tuesday, 16 October 2018 - 6.00pm
Location:
Queens' College, Fitzpatrick Hall

The Rt Hon Beverley McLachlin, PC, Chief Justice of Canada 2000-2017, will speak on 'The Rule of Law: Survival in the Post-Modern World' on Tuesday 16th October 2018 at 6.00pm in the Fitzpatrick Hall, Queens’ College.

All students and staff of the Faculty of Law are warmly invited to attend.

Each year since 2015 the Queens' Distinguished Lecture in Law has provided eminent lawyers with a forum to present an original and sometimes provocative perspective on current legal problems and debate their views with a Cambridge audience. Previous lecturers are Lady Hale, President of the Supreme Court, Lord Grabiner QC, and Lord Falconer QC.

The Rt Hon Beverley McLachlin has a long association with Queens' College through her role in the work of the Canadian Law Institute which has held its biennial conference at Queens' since 1979. In 2017 she was elected to the historic office of Visitor of the College in succession to Lord Falconer QC.

The Queens' Distinguished Lecture in Law is generously supported by Redress Solutions PLC.
