Thursday, 8 November 2018 - 6.00pm
Location:
Faculty of Law, B16

Join us for a presentation by three Amicus interns, who will explain the work that Amicus carries out in combatting the death penalty and providing access to justice for the vulnerable. The presentation will explain how the US death penalty works and how it interacts with important issues such as race, poverty and mental illness. There will be an introduction to the work that lawyers and interns at Amicus do on a daily basis to provide quality legal representation. The presentation will also cover how students can get involved in the work that Amicus does, from attending training sessions to working as an intern over the vacations.

There will also be a sign up sheet where you can register your interest for a workshop that CULS will be running in Lent term designed to prepare students for the chance to attend Amicus’ training in London, with the ultimate aim of interning with Amicus over the summer vacation.
