Online webinar

Cambridge University Human Rights Law Society (CUHRLS) are hosting a Black Lives Matter virtual panel event to explore 'Racial Inequality within the UK Criminal Justice System' on Thursday 26th November from 6pm-7pm.

The UK is not innocent - police brutality and institutional racism within the criminal justice system has a long, violent and deeply entrenched history in the UK. The Black community faces the consequences of this every day, being disproportionately impacted by the unjust system.

Join us at our panel event where we will be hearing from Matthew Ryder QC (Barrister at Matrix Chambers, Member of the Lammy Review, former Deputy Mayor of London for Social Integration) and Alexandra Wilson (Barrister at 5 St Andrew’s Hill and author of ‘In Black and White: A Young Barrister’s Story of Race and Class in a Broken Justice System’).

We will be exploring not only how institutional racism and violence is perpetuated within the UK criminal justice system, but how we might envision and enact reform.
