One Essex Court open day

On 27 June 2023, One Essex Court will be holding an Open Day for students who are interested in a career at the Bar. The aim of the Open Day is to give anyone considering a career as a barrister an insight into a career at the Commercial Bar and at One Essex Court in particular.

This one-day event, which will be hosted by barristers and clerks from One Essex Court, is aimed at providing an insight into the life and work of successful commercial barristers. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to attend talks by members of Chambers, including a talk and Q&A with Lord Neuberger of Abbotsbury, the former President of the UK Supreme Court, advice sessions and interactive activities. Lunch will also be provided on the day in Inner Temple Hall.

Applications to attend the Open Day are open to anyone considering a career at the bar, however, students currently undertaking the Bar Course or post-graduate law studies are particularly encouraged to apply. We also particularly welcome applications from those under-represented at the Commercial Bar, including people of minority ethnic origin, people with disabilities, LGBT+ people, and people who attended state schools or are first-generation university students.

The application form can be downloaded from the One Essex court website and must be submitted by 22 May 2023 to OpenDay@oeclaw.co.uk.

All applications received by 22 May 2023 will be considered, and we will select up to 30 successful applicants. Successful applicants will be notified by email by 5 June 2023.

One Essex Court will pay all reasonable travel expenses (including both travel and accommodation) to attend Chambers for the Open Day.
