Speakers: Melissa Lim of Walkers Law Firm, Cayman Islands and Brandon Caruana, Tenet Bank, Cayman Islands.
Abstract: In the Web3 space, Decentralised Autonomous Organisations or DAOs are fundamental in reflecting the decentralised nature of community governance based on blockchain technology. Instead of a central authority that makes decisions for a protocol, a DAO is a community driven entity where decisions are made by consensus of its members (or holders of its governance tokens) who vote on the details of the proposed transaction. In this informative session, we will be discussing latest trends affecting DAOs including legal wrappers, tokenholder governance mechanics, legal and practical considerations for administering a DAO and tokenholder liability protection.
(A sandwich lunch will be served from 12:15pm)
RSVP: Please RSVP to Kui Li kl552@cam.ac.uk or Damien Macedo dm963@cam.ac.uk by June 24th with any dietary requirements
