We will hear and discuss how different legal professions such as solicitors, barristers, judges, legal information providers, legal technology providers and the education sector are already and expect to be affected by artificial intelligence.
The session takes the setting of a discussion panel with focussed entry statements featuring the following speakers:
- Olivia Dhein: Practice Gen AI Integration Lead at Baker McKenzie, former Cambridge student
- Alexander Kardos-Nyheim: Senior Director, Thomson Reuters Labs, former Cambridge law student
- David Quest KC: Head of Chambers at 3VB and Deputy High Court Judge, former Cambridge student
- Philip Young: Co-founder of Garfield AI, the first law firm authorised to provide legal services via AI
- Felix Steffek: Deputy Chair, Faculty of Law
As last time, there will be drinks and an opportunity to continue the discussion informally.
To attend, please register (name and email address only).
We do not anticipate capacity problems but would cap based on time of registration if it becomes necessary.
The following session thereafter will take place on Thursday, 27 November, 5:00pm-6:30pm, LG19: ‘Why Study Law in the Age of AI?’
