The Faculty of LawThe Faculty of Law requires a competent, enthusiastic and appropriately qualified individual to provide web programming support to the Faculty as a Computer Officer. This is a fixed-term position for two years in the first instance.

The role holder will be responsible for supporting the Head of the Computer Office and the computing team in the provision, maintenance and development of IT-related support in the Faculty and, in particular, concerning the Faculty's web provision and maintenance of the hardware and operating systems which make up the web servers. Support will also be required in light of the recent launch of new websites for the Faculty's courses.

This is a busy and varied role which demands an excellent level of technical and IT competence, as well as accuracy, flexibility and common sense. The ability to prioritise tasks is essential. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and will be able to communicate effectively and appropriately at all levels. Applicants should be educated to degree level or have equivalent work experience, as well as being able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of Drupal, HTML, PHP, MySQL, Javascript and CSS. Familiarity with the Apache web service on a Linux system and system administration on Linux is essential.
