The Faculty is delighted to announce that the Chairman of the Faculty Professor David Feldman was appointed as one of this year's Queen's Counsel honoris causa. Professor Feldman was recommended for the honorary rank for his work in public law fields, particularly civil liberties and human rights.  The Faculty boasts a number of honorary QCs, including Professor Sir John Baker, Professor John Bell and Professor John Spencer.

Also appointed as practising Queen's Counsel this year were Peter Wallington and Professor Vaughan Lowe (formerly members of this Faculty), Julia Dias, daughter of Mr R.W.M. Dias (Emeritus Fellow at Magdalene College), and Tim Lord (alum of Sidney Sussex). In addition, there are several other alumni of the University who have taken Silk this year. Four of them are from Downing: Adrian Beltrami, Aidan Christie, Colin Birss, and Hugh Mercer.

Further information is available from the Ministry of Justice website which also publishes the full list of Queen's Counsel.
