Death of Professor Sir David Williams

It is with great sadness that we report the death of Professor Sir David Williams, who passed away on 6 September.

Sir David was enormously supportive of the Squire Law Library throughout his life. He chaired the Law Library Sub-Syndicate from 1982 - 1988 and became the Chairman of the Squire Appeal that was launched to coincide with the centenary year of the library in 2004.

The funeral of Sir David will take place at Emmanuel College on Wednesday 16 September 2009 at 2pm. All are welcome but the request is for family flowers only. As a mark of respect, the Faculty and Squire Law Library will be closed that day.
