The ESIL 2010 Conference was delighted to have Professor Andrew Hurrell deliver the conference's keynote paper during the opening Plenary Session on the Thursday afternoon.

Professor Hurrell is the Montague Burton Professor of International Relations at Oxford University and a Fellow of Balliol College. His research interests - which include theories of international relations (with particular reference to international law and international institutions), theories of global governance, and the history of thought on international law and relations - made him ideally suited to kick start the conference and get the debate a-flowing.

A draft of Professor Hurrell's keynote paper is available (for a limited time): ESIL 2010 - Keynote Paper - Hurrell (pdf)

Sir Daniel Bethlehem QC's comments on Professor Hurrell's keynote address are also available to download.
